As these things tend to go, we may have been premature in proclaiming our kitchen "done."
When I (Denise) got home last night, I smelled something that smelled like rubber burning. When I went into the bedroom, I realized the power was out. Kevin arrived home and we realized that one of the wires that So Cal Edison just days ago pulled from our new electrical box to the main power line out back was disconnected.
An Edison worker showed up at 9 p.m. and had the wiring fixed before 10 p.m., restoring our power. However, that burning smell? Yeah, that was our brand new oven. Fried. The new microwave? Yeah, that's fried too. So, we've had these great new appliances for, oh, four months and now we need new ones. Which, of course, leaves us without means of cooking until they are replaced - which we are EXPECTING Edison to do. But who knows how long that will take?
That noise you're hearing? That's Kevin and I yelling: "ARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!"
Oh, yeah, one more thing: Our cable modem got torched, too. So no Internet access at home.
