Kickin' It
Soccer Season Fall 2012 is well under way. AYSO continues to not disappoint by being the most disorganized youth sports organization around.
Holden is on the Golden Sabers, in the U10 Boys division. He likes playing goalie and is really, really good at it.
Riley is a U6 player on the Red Dragons. He still lacks focus, but has made huge improvements since last year and is having a good time.

Sierra Vacation
Despite a trip that began with a car sickness episode one hour into the first seven-hour drive, we found a wealth of nature, adventure, fun and relaxation in the Sierra Nevadas in July.
We began with two nights camping at Mammoth Lake Reservoir. The Reservoir itself was a muddy swimming and boating hole that we used to cool off from the very, very hot days. The Reservoir also provided some good rock scrambling and exploring for the boys.
Near camp was a beautiful stream where we explored and waded.
The evening was a good time for a rousing game of Molki.

Another road trip ... but this time to one of the most beautiful (albeit hot and crowded) places on this Earth: Yosemite. It was a scratch of the surface, whirlwind trip through the valley. We hope to return to explore more and take better photos, in better light, one day.
We spent a few days exploring Mammoth Lakes in the summer. We started with a trip up the gondola at Mammoth Mountain - a ski resort in the winter and a mountain biking adventure trail in the summer. We rode up, enjoyed the view from the top, and hiked down.
Every kid vacation has one element to make it successful: swimming. After our morning adventures, we let the kids swim themselves to the point of exhaustion every afternoon. It was the first time swimming was had that didn't involve hanging all over us in the pool.
Our last adventure was to explore the famous Mammoth Lakes via kayak.
