Summer Road Trip: Council Crest

The first time I went to Portland to visit Shar more than 10 years ago, we spent a few minutes one cold afternoon at this beautiful spot where, on a clear day, you can see all seven of the area peaks, including Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Saint Helens. I thought Mountain Man Kevin would appreciate the view, but it was too cloudy to see much.

We hung around for a while, though, while the kids ran around and we explored a short, lush hike that was perfect for us.
